Prof. Dr. Dursun BUĞRA started his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine in 1973. He graduated from the Department of General Surgery at the same university in 1983. After completing his education, he worked at SSK Istanbul Hospital until 1987. He then returned to academic life and started working as an assistant professor at Istanbul University School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1989. During the same year, he started as a researcher at the Gastrointestinal Surgery Clinic of Nancy University Faculty of Medicine in France until 1990. Dr. Dursun BUĞRA, who obtained the title of associate professor during this period, obtained the title of professor in 1996 and continued his profession as a faculty member. In 2011, he assumed the position of medical doctor in the Department of General Surgery at Koç University Faculty of Medicine and started working in the Department of General Surgery at the American Hospital. He still works at the American Hospital, and since 2018, he has been serving as the Group Director of Digestive Health and Chairman of the Department of General Surgery.
