Prof. Dr. Türker Sandallı graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1968. Following his undergraduate education, between 1968-1974, he received two separate scholarships from the Turkish Ministry of Education and the British Council to study at the Royal College of Surgeons at the University of London, where he obtained the basic medical sciences F.D.S.R.C.S diploma. He completed his specialization and master's studies at the Royal Dental Hospital. In 1975, he earned his specialty diploma in the Department of Orthodontics at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry. In 1976, he received the title of Dr. Med. Dent. from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry. After obtaining the title of Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1981, he continued his academic career by becoming a Professor at Marmara University.
During his education in London, which marked the beginning of his university career, Prof. Dr. Türker Sandallı was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the University of London. He was assigned by the Ministry of National Education to both modernize the university and establish the Department of Orthodontics at Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry.
He opened and directed two dental hospitals in Pasteur in France and German Hospitals, where he performed dental operations under general anesthesia for the first time in Turkey, pioneering this approach. In 1996, he founded the Faculty of Dentistry and Dental Hospital at Yeditepe University, serving as the dean for 19 years. After his tenure at Yeditepe University, he established the Faculty of Dentistry and Dental Hospital at Kemerburgaz University, where he served as the founding dean and vice-rector. He also established the Kemerburgaz University Health Campus and served as the campus director responsible for the faculties of Basic Medical Sciences, Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy.
In addition to his role as a dentist and academician, he was appointed as a consultant by the state in various ministries. Between 1990 and 1994, he served as a health consultant to the Turkish Ministry of National Education. From 1984 to 1989, he was a health consultant to the Istanbul Municipality and established the health department within the municipality. He served as a member of the Istanbul Education and Culture Foundation for 22 years.
Prof. Dr. Türker Sandallı has retired from his academic work and continues his profession at his clinic, Istanbul Dental Center, located in Nişantaşı, Istanbul.
